IC Cafe Singapore started as a simple gathering of IC professionals sharing knowledge over coffee. Today, we are one of the most influential tech community and investment platforms in Southeast Asia.
A Community Born from Passion
In 2012, IC Cafe was founded in China with a simple mission: create a space where IC industry professionals could connect, share knowledge, and explore opportunities together. The name "IC Cafe" reflects our belief that the best ideas and partnerships are born over casual conversations.
By 2014, a group of passionate semiconductor professionals in Singapore — from companies like GlobalFoundries, Marvell, Qualcomm, and research institutions like NTU and NUS — launched the Singapore chapter. What started as monthly salon events quickly grew into a vibrant ecosystem connecting 20+ university alumni networks and hundreds of tech professionals.
True to our founding spirit of sincerity, collaboration, pragmatism, and pioneering, we evolved from pure networking into a full-spectrum platform for startup incubation, investment advisory, and cross-border business facilitation.
A Decade of Community Building
IC Cafe Founded
IC Cafe was established in China as a community platform for IC (Integrated Circuit) industry professionals, covering chips, system hardware/software, IT, media, and industry analysis.
Singapore Chapter Launched
IC Cafe Singapore was founded by Dong Yemin and a group of semiconductor professionals from GlobalFoundries, NTU, NUS, and other leading institutions. The first salon events attracted 60+ attendees.
Community Expansion
Grew to 20+ university alumni networks, hosted landmark events including the Internet+ Maker Financing series with Prof. Shen Yiwen, and facilitated first angel investment connections.
Incubation & Investment
Evolved from pure networking into startup incubation and investor-founder matching. Helped multiple community startups secure seed and Series A funding.
Capital Platform
Full-spectrum capital advisory and cross-border bridge platform. Facilitating 35+ investor-founder introductions annually with a 35% conversion rate to funded deals.
